Steve Austin - A story of suicide and messy grace

Steve Austin is a former pastor who made his bed in hell and found God there.

Steve served the local church for ten years. During this time, he was secretly suffering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He was terrified for anyone to know the extent of his despair. Things became so unbearable that in 2012 Steve nearly died by suicide.

Steve has since become a leading voice at the intersection of faith and mental health and has his work featured in USA Today, Huffington Post, Relevant, and other outlets.

Steve hosts a podcast called Catching Your Breath and has authored or coauthored numerous books – and is currently writing two more – including:

- I Love Jesus, But…

- From Pastor to Psych Ward: Recovery from a Suicide Attempt is Possible

- Catching Your Breath: The Sacred Journey from Chaos to Calm

- Self-Care for the Wounded Soul: 21 Days of Messy Grace
